I was born and grew up near Albany,NY. In December 2009 I will have recieved my BFA from SUNY New Paltz. My love of Metalsmithing began at Pratt Institute at Munson-Williams Proctor, where I attended, studying fine arts from 2005 to 2007. From my first jewelry class I became fascinated with the ability to hand fabricate objects. At SUNY, I discovered my true niche in forming, the ultimate way to hand fabricate by hammering metal. My current work is inspired by ancient Chinese pottery and its natural/organic forms, contrasted with the industrial look of man-made elements. With this work I am intrigued by the irony in pairing the two. Outside the art world she is also a waitress, gets tattooed, eats asian food, and occasionally gets to have a life.
